Video reposting
When someone posts a link to a short video, Gim posts the video itself in the chat, so nobody has to leave Discord to watch it.
What it works with
| Platform | Links like | Event name |
|---|---|---|
| TikTok | tiktok.com/@user/video/… | tiktok |
| YouTube Shorts | youtube.com/shorts/… | shorts |
| X (Twitter) | x.com/user/status/… | twitter |
| Streamable | streamable.com/… | streamable |
| Medal | medal.tv/…/clips/… | medal |
| Twitch clips | clips.twitch.tv/… | twitch |
Gim replies to the message with the video, the title and who posted it, without pinging anyone. Only the first supported link in a message is used.
Turning it on
It's off in every server until you turn platforms on:
,reposter enable all ,reposter enable tiktok x ,reposter disable shorts ,reposter channels #clips #memes
,reposter channels with no channels goes back to every channel, and ,reposter shows what's on. You can set all of it on the dashboard under Video reposting too. These need Manage Server.
Each platform is also an event, so you can still switch one off in a single channel with ,disableevent #general tiktok.
<…> (which hides Discord's preview) also tells Gim to leave it alone.Size limit
A video has to fit Discord's upload limit for your server: 10 MB without boosts, 50 MB at boost level 2 and 100 MB at level 3. Gim first tries the video at 720p or less, then the smallest version. Longer or higher quality clips (Medal and Twitch clips are often 1080p only) may only fit on boosted servers.
Common problems
- Nothing happens. Gim needs Send Messages, Attach Files and Read Message History in the channel. Private, deleted or age-restricted posts can't be fetched, and a video that's too big is skipped quietly.
- Only some links work. Each member can have one video reposted every 15 seconds, and the same link isn't fetched twice at once.
- Photo posts and slideshows aren't reposted; only videos are.
